DRIVE-THRU MILKSHAKES WITHOUT THE DRIVE-THRU
Everyone has that one friend that is as thin as a pencil but eats as if she/he has 7 stomachs. I can easily count 5 friends that fit this profile back home in Canada, but one in particular rules them all. The black hole inside him meant accompanying him to 24-hour drive-thrus for midnight dinners every once in a while. I remember ordering soy milkshakes, burgers and fries, then parking and eating in front of Costco while jamming to Rihanna and Beyoncé.
After travelling a little and living in Spain, I realized soy milkshakes are not so easy to come by (I’m looking at you Tommy Mel’s!). So, as you can imagine, I (and my blender) got to work one Saturday night. At midnight, I blasted Michael Jackson’s Thriller and sipped on this Strawberry and Banana Soy Milkshake.
STRAWBERRY AND BANANA SOY MILKSHAKE
Total Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 1 milkshake
- 1 banana
- 2-3 strawberries
- 1/3 cup of soy milk
Peel and cut the bananas, then freeze them. After an hour, put the bananas in a food processor and add the strawberries and soymilk. Mix until well blended. Drink immediately!
